BIZARRE: PICTURE Of A Turtle That Smokes 10 Sticks Of Cigarette A Day

Image
According to Chinese media reports, in a village on the outskirts of Changchun lives a nicotine- addicted alligator snapper turtle who smokes around 10 cigarettes a day. The turtle’s keeper says that whenever it feels the need for a smoke, the reptile becomes agitated and starts to hiss. So how does a turtle become addicted to cigarettes? A local chef, surnamed Tang, who is helping his boss take care of it, says it all started about two months ago when he noticed the pet had lost interest in its daily fish diet. After inspecting the reptile, he noticed there was a sharp chicken bone lodged in its soft belly, but when he tried to pull it out, it snapped at his hand from the pain, nearly biting off his fingers. Tang realized the only way he could take out the bone was to distract the turtle, so he took the lit cigarette that was resting in his mouth and gave it to the pet to bite on. Its jaws snapped on the filter and didn’t let go for hours. His idea proved effec...

Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola Condemns Child Marriage

Image
What we are witnessing today with regards to 'child marriage' is a true example of what is wrong with our nation Nigeria.A reflection of how people in power use religion as a cover-up to perptrate evil for their own selfish interest. Never shall the State of Osun be part of such evil, neither Islam nor common sense supports such proposition. Because of the hope the Government of Osun has in the future of our children, we are investing heavily in the provision of classrooms and other facilities for school improvement, and not in labour rooms for the Nigerian child. This and many more we shall continue to do for the good of our people. Osun adara o.

AKINDELE House, Isale Asaka, Foko, Ibadan, an erstwhile sleepy and serene community in the capital city of Oyo State, came alive on Tuesday and it became a Mecca of sort, when the news of a miniature mermaid (omo Yemoja) filtered through the city. It took a while before the Nigerian Tribune crew got access to the house, a storey building, and when it finally did, the head of the family, Alhaji Raufu A. Salau, said he was sleeping upstairs when he heard a lot of unusual noise which forced him to come downstairs. According to him, “Ramota, his granddaughter, sells fried and roasted fish in the house and, as usual, purchased a carton of frozen fish that morning. She was in the process of cleaning the fish and separating those to be roasted from the ones to be fried when she was said to have screamed out loud and called on neighbours to come to her aid.” Salau, a retired civil servant, said he heard people asking after him but rather than come upstairs to see him, t...
